What humanity has created over the past 10 years in terms of mobile technology, it is affordable for "everyone" to possess a mobile phone, having a small thing in your hand, only needing electric power and then displaying you for several hours any information you want, being able to access the internet where almost uncountable information and data is stored by now

The one day I was in China

Stranger in subway, especially barefoot
3Chinese and me in supermarket, full of Malay and some other Chinese preparing for New Year

Very guest friendly, offering me all kind of stuff all the time
Everywhere chaos, students
Long cooking, very Chinese like food
No paid cooking class needed, learned enough

Hearing almost a whole day only Chinese apart from the little conversations with me
The TV (on laptop) is following the whole time, even while dinner, playing Chinese comedy
Very loud talking with each other
Making pictures of everything, arranging it nicely for several minutes
Beating the 1hour google maps suggests
140 where 90 in rain, passing stop lights, signs of speed cameras like they were air


Second day in Kuala Lumpur:

The tall blond white man between hundreds of Malaysian people, like an alien, still very friendly

People finding phones, cameras posting on Facebook to find owner

Everywhere Durian smell amongst many other unpleasant scents

Malaysian people are very happy, living and enjoying their life as they now it, most of them living a standard life with enough to survive and live comfortably, not needing any big luxury

Malaysia has almost no western tourists!
The places without tourists are the most interesting ones, the culture is still how it always used to be, possible to observe many differences and the original way of life in those countries

Men-women connection is different, no friends walking together, if there is a man with a woman it is his wife

And then, suddenly you are on a big huge plaza, strangely almost only men, but thousands of them, all talking, talking a language you never heard before and is completely unfamiliar to you, coming together, creating a massive crowd, and you as the only western person, the population density of this city is insane

Why are Western people not like this?
We focus on work, making money and big career, family still plays a role but not as much as in non-western countries (demographical change)
Why do so many people even need vacation, an all-inclusive hotel on the beach in Turkey to not do anything for 2weeks? We focus too much on work, some people may handle it very well, but most people should find enough balance in their life that you are happy all year around and not only on vacation

You only have this one life, and so you have to ensure you do what makes you happy,

Nobody wears sunglasses

Massive phone usage, everybody is calling someone

The sun is extreme, everybody is finding shade somewhere

Very few tourists on the streets but hotspots like KL tower are massively crowded - still western are a minority but a lot more than rest of Kuala Lumpur, mostly Chinese and Russian

Crazy vehicles, from very expensive Mercedes to completely wasted truck or van, on Asian roads everything can drive

Many people have long pants while I'm dripping in sweat

Smell of rotting is everywhere on streets, rubbish lying in many places

Smashed windows in train, same happens in Europe every now and then, but then replaced shortly

How bum guns only create a huge mess in Asian public toilets... why no toilet paper?

Land completely full of palm farms next to KL

Free solo, family, weirdo, girlfriends, passion, fear, the strong holding on to something, flexibility and fitness as climber, his posture still bad, people being worried, "romantic relationship removes focus", how much incredible planning is in a big climb, they use drones as well, no obligation of maximizing lifetime as the passion is stronger, how inspiring these people are as this is the only way you can actually get it done, they risk everything for it and go all out, how amazing the nighttime footage is, seeing how different that couple is in many opinions, "most healthy and stable relationship he had", point of life happiness vs. performance, why not have both? How crazy the level looks of this rock, having it only done once I kind of understand how amazing this performance is, how the movie made him bail, lacking of focus, all the diary entries about tiny details necessary, trust, autopilot, like every goodbye you never know when there is the last one, van's window cracked same place Albert's was, the rock is at some points almost just a straight wall, so impressive, how hard and dangerous must a down climb be, he is passing a bunny costumed guy but has complete tunnel vision, his fitness is supernatural, all the chalk spots, his smile at karate kick, the adrenaline at boulder problem, introverted celebration but emotional

Can spicy food have a waking up effect?

Tallest person in airplane

This strange feeling of excitement in my stomach, heart, throat, head, everywhere in my body, being in the final plane to see Lia again

What lies ahead of me... this life is crazy, I am so incredibly excited, had this feeling several times in my life but I think hardly ever this strong, this intense definitely not in the past 14months

I feel like I'm on a drug, my heart is racing, breath deep and calm, my eyes wide open, sharp focus, observing like on acid or mushrooms, what is happening to me?? Time perception is different as well, seems to move so incredibly much slower (because of sharpened senses and thoughts) rolling on the yard forever

The atmosphere of a dimmed cabin light enhances the experience and situation, everything is kind of quiet and I hear every single thing

Holy shit if Lia will get to know this soon, this is one of the very few times in my life I felt like being on a drug, whilst actually being stone sober, the human brain is amazing

(One of) the most intense take offs ever in my entire life, out of hundreds and hundreds of flights... how the engine finally starts, the plane starts accelerating crazily whilst everything is almost completely dark around me, pulling me, pulling me towards that person, so far yet so close, when we are I the air feeling the lost gravity and how we fly, this life is so incredibly crazy, I have no more words, but am so excited to see her again, more than I have ever been excited to see a person...
